Have a hankering for the open road on a bicycle? Been there, done that and want to reminisce?

Arriving By Bike loves bike touring too and we are elated to welcome Jim Sayer, Adventure Cycling Association Director, for an evening devoted to bike touring adventures past and present. Please join us for this FREE event!

Social hour from 6-6:45pm, followed by the program from 6:45-8pm. FREE pizza snacks and other munchies, soft beverages, and door prizes!

Jim Sawyer will tell us about the latest in national bike travel news including: Cool new bike routes all over North America (such as the new Bicycle Route 66 and the forthcoming Texas Hill Country and Chicago-NYC routes), bike overnights, the U.S. Bicycle Route System, partnerships with Amtrak and the National Park Service to promote cycling, national and state advocacy efforts, and big plans for Adventure Cycling’s 40th anniversary in 2016. You’ll also enjoy some beautiful imagery of bike adventures from around the planet.

Adventure Cycling Association started out in 1976 as Bikecentennial and developed the cross-country biking route that runs through Eugene and has been a guardian angel on the road to thousands and thousands of riders including hundreds of Eugenians (including 3 from our bike shop family). Next year is their 40th Anniversary with lots of great happenings planned.

When: Tuesday, October 27 from 6:00-8:00 pm (6:00-6:45, social time, followed by program)

Where: Vet’s Club Hall first floor, 1626 Willamette St (corner of 16th & Willamette across from the Bier Stein)
